We offer four individually furnished rooms, each with its own decorative theme and warmth that attracts those looking for a place to recharge. We serve a full continental or cooked breakfast to our guests. You may choose to eat in our special guest dining room or have it served in the privacy of your room upon request. There are also camping sites available to pre-book.

We take pleasure in welcoming you to our Paradise, a peaceful setting on 34 acres of woodlands where nature never sleeps; a woodland Bed and Breakfast just outside of Stratford... Every season has its own story to tell and when night welcomes the day, you step into a private little paradise of beautiful plants, flowers and trees. The huge variety of birds in song invite you to relax, and let Mother Nature work her magic on your tired soul... Te Popo, the Māori name for “lullaby”, is a peaceful country retreat of great beauty filled with birdsong.

Te Popo Gardens and Accommodation provides a year-round retreat for our guests to enjoy the many splendours of the beautiful Mount Egmont and the Taranaki province. Each guest will be treated with the kind of attention that is reserved for family. On arrival we want our guests to step into a trouble free world of unforgettable rest and peace, where the sound of the city is replaced with the sound of birds and flowing water. Our woodland picnic spots are perfect for a little escape from the daily stress. Our gardens are ideal for group tours (teas/lunches by arrangement). Wheelchair friendly, toilets available.

Our property is also a perfect venue for celebrations and company functions. It is a classy venue for a perfect wedding. A German phantom coach with the bride and groom will be pulled by two horses up a 150 meters driveway to our wedding venue in the gardens and married by a celebrant of their choice. The couple can opt to spend their first night in our unforgettable wedding suite in total privacy.

How to get here:
Easy access to and from the Forgotten World Highway (SH43), Midhirst or Stratford (SH3). Follow the Te Popo sign. We are 15 minutes from Stratford, 30 minutes to Mount Taranaki and 40 minutes to New Plymouth.
