DETAILS - Older desktops and laptops were made using a mechanical hard drive with spinning platter as the System Drive. To complete each task, requires that the heads move to the right track on the disk, to “seek” the heads to the right track where the data is stored then wait for the disk to spin to access the data. You must wait for this task to complete for each page that you load.
For a typical Hard Drive, the data speed to seek is typically 1 to 1.5 MB/second followed by read or write speeds typically around 60 to 100 MB/second once the heads are on the right track position. Solid State Drive technology is now available that has no moving parts and very fast speed access to reduce your waiting time.
UPGRADE - We can replace the hard drive with fully electronic high-speed drive that has access speed of around 100 MB/Second to seek and around 500 MB/Second to read once positioned.
Start-up times of 90 seconds or more may reduce to under 30 seconds.
An overall speed increase of 4x or up to 400% is often gained.
This high-speed System Drive can mean that old PC has years added to its service life with 3 year or 5 year warranty on the new drive.

2. Purchase this upgrade on-line
3. If you are local then drop in or else send your slow PC to us with return courier tag - PC Patch Shop - 428 Cuba St, Alicetown, Lower Hutt 5010
4. We upgrade in typically 3 to 6 business days – (urgency options available for $90 for next day service) We "Clone" the old drive to the new high-speed drive and test it runs well. When we clone your drive all your data, software, passwords and settings remain intact and your PC runs as before, just much faster.
5. Get your faster PC back to you - Either you collect from PC Patch shop, or we can send back to you - courier at your cost (when you send, enclose return courier ticket)
6. We confirm that your PC is running well for you then we ask you to place a positive review on our Google Business page.
